My name is Bear Grylls, if you find me I am probably on the Isle of Wight. My carer Tolly Dolly Posh has looked after me for many years and I have spent this time visiting the many beautiful beaches and coves all over the Island. I am named after Edward Michael Grylls,a British Adventurer, writer and television presenter, who grew up in Bembridge on the Island. From 1994 to 1998  Grylls served with the SAS. In spite of breaking three vertebrae in a parachuting accident in Africa,  Grylls became the youngest British climber to reach the summit of Mount Everest. Bear Grylls, along with his colleagues from Everest, achieved another first when they jet skied around the British Isles.

Like mine, many of Bear’s expeditions or adventures were for charity, and include when Grylls rowed naked in a bathtub along the Thames; as well as when, in aid of the Prince’s Trust, Grylls led the first group to cross unassisted the frozen North Atlantic Ocean in an open Rigid Inflatable Boat. I have spent time out at sea too with Tolly in her little boat”Marmalade-Storm” in the beautiful Creek in Newtown where I lived. On these occassions we would sail out to a neighbouring “Island” and have a B-B-Q or hunt for fossils in amongst the sand and peebles, often returning with dinosaur remains of all different shapes and sizes-even fossilized dinosaur “Poo!”

I hope you will look after me when you find me, and that I can go on a great adventure with you too! So if you have found me please tell your tale of what I’ve been up to with you. You can do that here.
